The Bureau of Engraving and Printing’s (BEP) Western Currency Facility produces over half of the nation’s paper currency in Fort Worth, Texas. A BEP employee will be at each of five “living” exhibits being showcased: a turn-of-the-century spider press, a mutilated currency desk, an engraver’s bench, and a photoengraver and platemaker staffed tables. Visitors will be able to directly interact with the experts about their respective crafts.

A local medical office is offering free school physicals to the public on Saturday August 6th at their Lewisville office from 8 am to 3 pm. This ‘Student Athlete Appreciation Day’ was developed as a means to promote health screening and awareness for children and teens in the Lewisville and Carrollton communities in these tough economic times. The school physical examination includes testing for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), a congenital heart condition, plus screening for scoliosis, eating disorders, lymphoma and host of other common, serious conditions.
Dr. Zahaluk will be conducting free school physicals at his Main Street Medical Care Family Practice and Urgent Care office in Lewisville, across from the Medical Center of Lewisville. These sports physicals are open to students of any age regardless of their school district.
