Lamb of God Lutheran Church Patriotic Festival – Come celebrate with the Lamb of God Lutheran church on Sunday, May 22, at 4pm for their first annual Patriotic Festival.  This free community event is a great opportunity to gather and thank the people currently serving in our military and to honor those who have served in the past. There will be activities including music,a  flag ceremony, bounce house, face painting and a free barbecue picnic. Lamb of God Lutheran Church is located at 1401 Cross Timbers Road, Flower Mound. Bass Pro Shops – On May 21-22 & May 28-29, Bass Pro Shops located at 2501 Bass Pro Dr., Grapevine  is celebrating their annual Go Outdoors Event. This event showcases traditional camping, boating and hiking with fun things to do for the whole family. Workshops for the kids will be held on Saturday May 21 & 28.

Lowes Build and Grow –The FREE Lowes Kids Workshop is back again on Saturday, May 28th, 2011. Your child will each be able to build a Free Airplane at Lowe’s. Be sure to sign up for this event here.

Wildflower Festival

Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival –  Wildflower! is an award-winning, multi-day eclectic arts and music festival. Festival programming includes two main outdoor performance stages, family friendly Kidz Korner, strolling entertainers, buskers and acrobats, lots of interactive displays and exhibits. All ages. Fri 6pm-12am, Sat 11am-12am, Sun 12:30-8pm in Richardson at Galatyn Parkway and US 75. Three-Day Pass/$30, Adult Day Pass/$20, Kids Pass/$3, Richardson Resident/$10.

Mini Chefs at Grapevine Mills– Bring your kids Saturday, May 21 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.to the Kidgits Club Mini Chefs event. They will enjoy an exciting experience that combines food demonstrations with hands-on activities, encouraging kids to get creative and have fun with food. Located at Entry 5, Grapevine Mills Mall, 3000 Grapevine Mills Parkway, Grapevine.
Cost: Free

The Colonial –  Enjoy PGA action May 16-22,  in Fort Worth at The Colonial Country Club where kids will have a blast at Henry’s Hideaway (behind the Colonial stone right of #10 fairway). There will be a complimentary lunch (served at 11:30am), activities, T-shirts and a front row seat to all the golf action. All ages are welcome Thursday – Sunday 10am – 4pm. Adult tickets are $45; Children 13-17 are $15 and children 12 and under are free.

Texas Steak Cookoff – If you are looking for a fun weekend getaway and want to taste the best steak in Texas then you will want to make the short trip and visit Hico, Tx this weekend! Saturday May 21 Hico is celebrating the 2011 – Texas Steak Cookoff. This is a small country town that hosts the largest steak cookoff in the Southwest and draws people from all over the US. This event has been featured on Food Network as well as featured in Texas Monthly and Rachel Ray Magazine. Attendees will enjoy good food, shopping, live entertainment and wine tasting.
